Geometric primitives in computer graphics are the simplest or
irreducible objects that the system can draw, which are usually points, curves,
lines and shapes polygons. Vector images use geometric primitives to create an
image on digital devices and can be scaled to any size without losing quality
because unlike raster images, they are not made up of pixels.
Vector graphics file extension formats include ESP (Encapsulated Post Script), AI (Adobe Illustrator) or FLA
(Adobe Flash Animation). ESPs contain two-dimensional images, text and bitmap
images, and are easily transferrable across different operating systems. AI
file format was created by Adobe Illustrator to represent single paged vector
images as ESPs and PSDs. Illustrator documents can include colour, text and objects.
This is a vector image.
